About us

Source in Surrey is an AI powered platform designed to transform how businesses across Surrey connect, buy, and grow. Developed by Surrey Chambers of Commerce and supported by Surrey County Council, it sits at the heart of the wider Source in Surrey initiative to help businesses connect, buy, and grow in Surrey’s £50 billion economy. The platform uses AI to connect Surrey-based SMEs with procurement opportunities from larger organisations and the public sector making local sourcing faster, simpler, and more effective.

Alongside the platform, a programme of roadshows, training, and events brings businesses together in person creating opportunities to learn, network, and build the relationships that power successful local supply chains. Together, this combination of AI and real-world engagement will help Surrey businesses be more connected, expand their customer base, and keep business local.

Our Work So Far

At Source in Surrey, we’ve combined in-person engagement with the development of our AI platform to support businesses across the county. A key focus of our work so far has been the development of the Source in Surrey AI platform. The platform has been shaped through direct engagement with Surrey businesses, ensuring it responds to real challenges around procurement, visibility, and accessing new opportunities. Early previews and demonstrations at events have generated strong interest, with many organisations already signing up to be among the first to use the platform.

Our Source in Surrey Roadshows have played a key role in engaging businesses and building momentum across the county. Hosted at venues including Tandridge Golf Club, Hartsfield Manor, and The Thames Club, these events have brought together a wide range of organisations, from SMEs to established brands.

Through keynote talks, expert insights, and networking opportunities, attendees have gained practical knowledge on procurement, pricing, and business development, while also being introduced to the capabilities of the AI platform. These roadshows have not only supported learning, but have also helped to build valuable connections and strengthen the local business network.

Alongside platform development and roadshows, we’ve delivered expert-led sales training workshops to help businesses maximise new opportunities. Led by Anita Saini of HX Solutions, these sessions have provided practical guidance on sales techniques, negotiation, closing strategies, and account management. Feedback from participants has been consistently positive, with many highlighting how the training has helped them refine their approach and improve their ability to win new business.

Together, these activities have laid strong foundations for the future of Source in Surrey AI by building awareness, developing capability, and creating a growing network of businesses ready to connect, collaborate, and trade locally.

Our Goals for the Future

Source in Surrey aims to become the central hub for local business connections and procurement across the county.

Our goals include:

  • Making local sourcing the default and using AI to connect businesses with the right suppliers quickly and efficiently.
  • Creating more opportunities for SMEs by helping smaller businesses gain visibility and access to contracts through both the platform and events.
  • Expanding our events programme by continuing to deliver roadshows, training sessions, and networking opportunities that support learning and relationship-building.
  • Bridging digital and in-person connections, ensuring the platform enhances, not replaces, the value of face-to-face engagement.
  • Driving sustainable economic growth in Surrey by strengthening local supply chains.

Our vision is to build a smart, connected platform where technology and human connection work hand in hand, helping Surrey businesses discover opportunities, build relationships, and grow with confidence.
